Chicken pox

Amberは水疱瘡の症状がある。

Amber came home with little blisters on patches of skin and told mummy that she had touched a ‘kemushi’ (hairy caterpillar) at school today and that’s what she thought the blisters were. But then after dinner she started complaining about a sore head and I thought she had a slight fever. So mummy bundled her into the car to go to the doctors with her Pretty Cure study book for the waiting room.

The doctor took one look at the blisters and said “That’s not ‘kemushi’, it’s Chicken pox.”

When they got home and told me my first thought was “Yay! We get to have ice cream and jelly for dinner!…… no wait, that for umm the mumps….. What kind of treat do you get for the chicken pox?”

Turns out that all Amber has gotten so far is some smelly cream to put on the blisters and a cool bottle of Pocari Sweat which is a family tradition whenever some one is sick.

Breakfast time!

When Koru heard breakfast was ready he woke up running.

The recipe said English crumpets but they looked a lot like pancakes / pikelets.

Two forks method

Koru tried to feed himself by sandwiching his dinner inbetween two forks and then stuffing it into his mouth. I was too slow to catch the two fork action but I got some video of him trying the more conventional one fork method.
